Was Here (“the app”) is a travel map that lets you track the countries you have visited. This policy explains what data the app handles and where it lives.
The short version: your data stays on your device.
Nothing. Was Here does not require an account, does not ask for your name or email, and does not transmit your personal data to us or to anyone else.
If you choose to use “Import from photos”, the app asks for permission to read your photo library and scans only the location metadata (geotags) of your photos to suggest countries you have visited.
Notes you attach to countries are private, stored only on your device, and never leave it.
Was Here is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect any data from anyone — including children.
If a future version of the app adds features that change how data is handled (for example, optional sync or crash reporting), we will update this policy before those features ship and note the changes here.
